Giorgio Venturieri at the apiary belonging to João Evangelista Moteiro, 57 years old, in the region of AIgarapé-Miri. João is a peasant. For a long time, forestry was indispensable to his life in the forest, but today, with his acai plantation producing that fruit and heart of palm, shrimp fishing and keeping of the stingless bees, he succeeds in providing a living for his family.
