Varroa destructor mite on drone pupae. In the 1970's, it appeared in Europe and, since 1982, in France. The female mite feeds itself through stinging and drinking the bees's hemolymph.///Varroa destructor sur des nymphes de faux-bourdons. Dans les années 1970 il est apparu en Europe et en France depuis 1982. La femelle varroa se nourrit par piqûre de l’hémolymphe des abeilles.
