Le reste du pays, l’Ouest est préservé ainsi que la Tasmania par un système de quarantaine efficace entre états, allant jusqu’à l’interdiction de transporter des ruches vers l’ouest pour les apiculteurs. Le centre de l’Australie est un désert, c’est une véritable barrière naturelle.
